Perfect Fall Adventures In London

Oct 02, 2020

It’s the perfect time to get out and enjoy autumn weather, the community, and support local vendors.

London, also known as Forest City, comes to life in autumn as the weather cools down and the leaves begin to change.

Here are some events and activities to enjoy during October.

Food Trucks on the Farm
Visit Heeman’s greenhouse for all your fall décor needs and enjoy a variety of local food trucks. From Friday to Sunday until October 4th, you can enjoy savory meals from Rocky Mountain Pizza Plus, Pierogi Queen, or Big Daddy Bacon. Bring your appetite and some chairs or a blanket (seating can be limited). This event is free, but some food trucks only accept cash so be prepared.

Pick Your Own Fall Harvest at Apple Land Station
Take a drive to Thorndale and visit Apple Land Station to pick your own apples and pumpkins. They also have a bakery that is famous for its mile-high apple pie. Don’t forget to explore their seasonal jams, chutneys, jewelry, and more.

Outdoor Farmers Market at Covent Garden Market
Visit on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm to enjoy locally-grown produce, baked goods, and growers. The vendors at this market “grow it, raise it, bake it, or make it,” and they have some certified organic options.

London’s Tree Trunk Tour
Tree carvers have created sculptures across the streets of London from tree stumps. These magnificent pieces of artwork are created with chainsaws ranging from large blocking saws to delicate carving saws for fine details. The walking tour has around 20 notable spots across the city.

London Artists Studio Tour
A small group of artists put together open studios and group shows to support local artists, their environment, and creative process. This two-day event will run on October 24th and 25th. You can view the full list of artists who will be involved here.

London Poutinefest
Celebrate the original Poutinefest in London from October 16th to 18th at Victoria Park. Spread the love with fries, cheese curds and gravy, from local makers of this Canadian favourite.
